Mainstream Hollywood, UK/US Collaboration, and Independent Film (task 5)

Task 5:)

A. What are film production values? Refer to examples.
Production value, this is combination of lighting, sound, scenery and how these were executed. It is a challenge to create high production value on low budgets.

B. Explain why these are important to both producers and audience.
Producers always want to spend least money as possible and they want everything to be executed perfectly.
Audience is the viewers which will rate the movie.. everything has to be executed perfectly in order to get film a high audience interest and positive praise to the movie.

C. Is there a difference between British film production values and American film production values? Explain.

In Britain there has been a change in movies, in the 1980s and 1999s amogst filmmakers to embrace the idea of worldwide audience.  To occupy a global audience's imagination would be a clear benefit for the British film industry by bringing money into Britain and allowing to make other films.
Appreciating American audiences, or using an American star, means that American distributors would be more interested in part-financing a British firm. There are very few investors in business that do not want to see their money returned.

Some bits of the movie was filmed in Hong Kong around various places and buildings. Helicopters and air-planes "C-130" was hired to shoot a scene. Moreover too shoot some scenes they used IMAX cameras which really challenged and lead to many problems filmmakers, because it was very heavy and way larger than normal cameras...

The Dark Knight Rises had many different ways of maketing... They used "Mountain Due" as marketing technique in hoping that it would promote the soon to be released film. Also they used posters from the movie in real life subways, bus stations and in all general places where people visit all the time. They had many different posters of the movie in one place. The promo was mainly used to let people taste film and the main character of the movie. These was found on buses, megazines and in newspapers. Billboards was another way of marketing, it was exclusive marketing product that passers by could glance at whilst on their travels. Besides everything they had unique idea, they posted a map in over 1000s of different locations "where die hard batman" and comic fans could reach it in this map. It provided clues on where to go to receive a 6 minute prologue. Afterall they had tops, phones cases, mugs, pyjamas, toys and such more as a part of marketing and advertising the movie.
